HITSA A/S
Although we still see ourselves as a small workshop, HITSA has grown into a large company. With this growth, the need for structure has become essential – both in Denmark and Sweden. With IPW we have obtained a flexible framework that matches our ‘ keep optimizing” spirit.
HITSA has been working with quality management for a long time, however, previously it was managed through Word documents and shared drives. What we lacked was a proper documentation system and the expertise to systemize it. During my search for a suitable QMS, it became clear that we needed something customized which I knew would be an additional cost. So, what would the final expense then be?’
IPW gave us the ability to single-handedly create the registrations and forms we needed to meet ISO standards, so choosing a QMS was easy. The timeline, however, was more critical. In December, we realized that HITSA’s old form program license, costing 40,000 DKK to renew, was about to expire in February. This gave us a tight deadline to build all the necessary forms before the old program was shut down – but we managed to get it done.
Several Advantages: From scratch with System and ISO 9001
It’s definitely been to my advantage being a newly hired Quality Coordinator and starting from scratch with a completely new system. This allowed me to dedicate my time to getting IPW up and running smoothly. HITSA already has ISO 14001 and is now aiming for an ISO 9001 certification, so I have the benefit of not having to revive an old certification. Instead, both the system and the certification are being built from the ground up, with IPW supporting the entire process.
There is a tremendous willingness to work more systematically at HITSA. My focus has been to build something the employees can use and that looks/feels? familiar to them. Everyone has really embraced IPW and quickly discovered other ways to fully utilize the system.
